How to Draw a Yorkie
- Draw the outline of the head.
Determine what the size of your drawing will be and draw the outline of the head with thin lines, then add the outline of the front of the muzzle in the form of a small circle.
- Outline the rest of the body.
Draw the thoracic region in the form of a large circle and designate the pelvic region in the form of a smaller circle. Use a smooth line to outline the back and tail.
- Sketch out the limbs.
Using a few thin lines, mark the position of the front and hind limbs. The hind legs are located together, and the front legs are at some distance from each other.
- Depict the eyes.
Just above the middle of the head, draw two eyes of the same shape as in our example. At the same time, keep the proportions.
- Add the nose.
Continue adding elements of the muzzle in this step draw the nose, add the nostrils on the sides and the small crease at the bottom of the nose.
- Start drawing the fur.
On the top of the head, draw the individual spiky strands of the fur using short strokes. Try to correctly depict the direction of the hair growth.
- Draw one ear.
Depict the erect ear in a triangular shape. Add the fur outline along the outer outline of the ear and draw thick fur at the base of the ear.
- Depict the second ear.
This step is similar to the previous one, and now you have to draw the same ear on the other side of the head.
- Sketch out the front of the muzzle.
Use short, curved lines to depict the thick fur on the front of the muzzle. Add the fluffy hair on the chin.
- Continue adding the fur outline.
Focus on the auxiliary lines and mark the outline of the hair on the back, on the chest, on the belly and on the back of the body.
- Add the front paws.
Use the guidelines as a guide and draw the short paws. Draw the thick hair at the base of the paws.
- Sketch out the hind legs and tail.
Draw two hind legs that are located side by side. Using short, curved lines, draw the semicircular tail that is lifted up.
- Correct inaccuracies.
The main contours are ready. Now you can carefully remove all unnecessary lines in your drawing and correct mistakes if necessary.
- Color the drawing.
For coloring, you will need different shades of brown and black. Don’t forget to add the highlights to the eyes.
