How to Draw a Leaf

We have prepared another basic drawing lesson for you. Today we will tell you how to draw a leaf.

 

Step 1

Firstly we will draw the outline of this leaf. In our version, it is located horizontally but you can arrange it vertically. You should not depict this leaf half-expanded because it will make all further drawing more difficult.

Step 2

In this stage we depict a central streak that runs through the entire leaf of the tree. It looks like an ordinary range that expands towards the round part of our leaf.

Step 3

We need this leaf to be very realistic, right? Any artist strives to ensure that the object that he paints would be similar to the original. We need this leaf to be very realistic, right? To add to our drawing of realism, we should depict additional streaks that should be located diagonally relative to the streaks from the previous step.

Step 4

If you have any additional lines you should remove them. In the same step, you should carefully consider your leaflet and evaluate its correctness. If you do not see any flaws, then you can start working with colors.

Step 5

Autumn is a great time of the year. Only in autumn you can see the trees of various colors. You can see red, yellow or orange leaves. Nevertheless, we decided to choose the usual color for summer leaves – green. If you wish, you can add shadows in the form of areas of a darker shade.
