How to Draw a Corgi

Due to their short stature, the Corgi looks very funny and is popular. These dogs are intelligent, loyal, friendly, and playful. Initially, Corgi dogs were used as shepherds and perfectly guarded animals on pastures.
Corgis are attentive to extraneous sounds and smells, so they make reliable watchmen. The main features of Corgi dogs are an elongated torso, short legs and erect ears. All these features you have to depict in your drawing.

How to Draw a Corgi
- Draw the base.
First, you need to outline the contours of the corgi’s body. To do this, draw three circles of different sizes. Thus, you will determine the location of the head and torso.
- Depict the top and bottom outline.
Draw the contour of the neck, back, and belly. To do this, draw smooth connecting lines between the circles. The widest part of the body is in the thoracic region.
- Add the front part of the muzzle.
Use a curved line to represent the upper jaw, and use a smooth, rounded line to represent the lower jaw.
- Sketch out the elements of the muzzle.
Add eyes in the form of two ovals, and draw a nose. In this step, be careful and try to keep all proportions.
- Draw the ears.
Corgis have large erect ears. Use smooth, rounded lines to depict the outer contour of the ears, and immediately add the inner part with thin lines.
- Add the front paws.
Depict a few short lines from the thoracic region. In this case, the lines should not be located vertically, but slightly at an angle.
- Depict the feet.
Immediately draw the lower part of the front paws. On each paw draw fingers and small claws. Compare your drawing with the example.
- Draw the hind legs.
Here you need to try a little more, because this step uses curved lines, which you must repeat correctly. Take your time and be careful.
- Sketch out the tail and the rest of the hind legs.
Draw a smooth rounded line to depict the tail and add the feet on the hind legs. Draw the fingers and claws in the same way as you did for the front paws.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Use the eraser and remove all unnecessary lines, carefully circle the drawing along the contour, in the end you should get a clear, beautiful drawing.
- Color the Corgi.
Use brown to color the upper body and head, as shown in the example. Color the eyes and nose in dark brown.
