How to Draw the Empire State

We decided to dedicate this step-by-step guide to drawing a popular architectural structure, and now you will learn how to draw the Empire State. This is a skyscraper, which is located in New York on the island of Manhattan. Empire State is one of the tallest buildings in the world.
In this lesson, you will draw individual parts of the building using smooth, straight lines. In the process, you can use improvised tools or draw all the lines yourself.

How to Draw the Empire State
- Prepare the base.
Determine the size of your drawing and draw the main part of the building as an elongated rectangle. Designate the upper contour of the building as a triangle.
- Draw the top of the tower.
The top of the tower consists of several small elements of different shapes and there is a long vertical rod at the top.
- Depict the top of the building.
A little lower, carefully draw a few rectangular shapes, as shown in our example.
- Continue adding building elements.
This will be a simple step in which you will draw two rectangular shapes using straight lines.
- Depict the main part of the building.
Draw down vertical lines. Add the long strip on the front of the building and add some short lines at the bottom.
- Sketch out the bottom of the building.
Use even, straight lines and draw some rectangular blocks at the bottom of the building.
- Draw the base.
At the very bottom, draw a rectangular shape. Note that the base is slightly wider than the main body of the building.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Now carefully look at your drawing and if you notice mistakes, then immediately correct them.
- Color the drawing.
For coloring, you will need several shades of gray. Highlight the dark areas to give the drawing a more realistic look.
