How to Draw the White House

How to Draw the White House
- Prepare the base.
Determine the size of your drawing and draw an elongated rectangle. At the initial stage, use thin lines.
- Designate the central part of the building.
In the middle of the building, draw two vertical lines at some distance from each other. Add a curved line at the top.
- Start detailing the roof.
Draw several straight horizontal lines on each side. Add side contours and small towers.
- Add the roof elements.
Draw a few more straight lines and add two small towers. Be careful and keep proportions.
- Add some outlines.
Focus on the auxiliary lines and make the side contours of the building clearer. Draw horizontal lines on each side.
- Detail the top of the central body.
In the upper part of the central body, draw smooth, slightly curved lines, as shown in our example.
- Depict the columns.
Be careful in this step and carefully draw six columns of the same shape and size.
- Sketch out the balcony.
Draw smooth connecting lines between the columns and add transverse lines to depict the elements of the balcony.
- Draw the plants.
With the help of smooth curved lines depict several small shrubs in front of the facade of the building. Draw the outline of the grass.
- Depict the windows on the top floor.
Draw tall windows between the columns using straight lines. Make sure the windows are the same size.
- Draw the windows on the lower floor.
Add a few more tall rectangular windows and add curly elements in the form of arches and triangles at the top of each window.
- Add the rest of the windows.
Now you have to draw the windows on the sides of the building. Take your time and carefully draw all the lines.
- Depict the rest of the elements.
Draw some longitudinal lines at the bottom and top of the building. Draw the tall flagpole and the flag on the roof.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Compare your drawing with our example and if you notice any mistakes, correct them right away. Carefully remove all extra lines in your drawing.
- Color the drawing.
Color the sky blue, plants green. To color the building, use different shades of gray.
