How to Draw Mike Wazowski

No doubt you will love the easy step-by-step guide on how to draw Mike Wazowski. This is one of the main characters of the cartoon “Monsters Inc”.

Mike’s body shape resembles a green pea. There is one large eye on the forehead. The limbs are thin, and the fingers have small claws.

Mike Wazowski looks very funny, doesn’t he? So grab your art supplies and enjoy the creative process.

Step 1: Sketch Mike Wazowski’s round body

Choose the size and placement of the Monsters, Inc. character, then draw a large circle with light strokes. This rounded shape will serve as both Mike Wazowski’s head and body.

Step 2: Position Mike Wazowski’s limbs

Place the arms and legs with thin lines extending from the circular body. Mark the elbows and knees with large dots, and use smaller shapes to indicate the hands and feet.

Step 3: Draw Mike Wazowski’s single eye

Draw one large oval eye across the upper half of the body. Add the circular iris and dark pupil inside it, then place broad curved creases above and below the eyelids.

Step 4: Refine the body and add the horns

Trace the circular body with a firmer, slightly uneven contour while retaining its rounded form. At the top, draw two short horns of Mike Wazowski that taper to blunt points.

Step 5: Outline the lowered arm and claws

Thicken the first arm around its guideline, narrowing it slightly toward the wrist. Draw the relaxed hand below, separate the fingers, and add a pointed claw to each fingertip.

Step 6: Draw Mike Wazowski’s raised arm

Build the second arm around the existing line and shape the elbow bend. Add the raised hand with the fingers pointing upward, then finish each finger with a small sharp claw.

Step 7: Draw Mike Wazowski’s first leg

Give the first leg its full width around the guide, keeping the upper part slim and the lower section slightly thicker. Draw the broad toes at the bottom and add short claws.

Step 8: Complete the second leg and foot

Repeat the same construction for the second leg, following its different angle. Form the wide foot at the bottom with the toes pointing in the opposite direction, then add the claws.

Step 9: Add Mike Wazowski’s open mouth

Draw the wide open mouth across the lower half of the body. Use wavy lines for the upper and lower rows of teeth, then add short curved creases near the corners.

Step 10: Finish the Mike Wazowski line drawing

Erase the circle, limb guides, and joint marks that remain inside the figure. Correct the contours of the eye, body, horns, arms, legs, mouth, fingers, and toes.

Step 11: Color Mike Wazowski

Fill the body, arms, and legs with bright green, using a darker green for the shadows. Color the iris blue, the pupil and mouth black, and the horns, teeth, and claws light gray.
