How to Draw an Angler Fish

We invite you to follow this tutorial on aquatic animals, where you will learn how to draw an anglerfish. This is a predatory fish with a rounded, laterally flattened body.
The anglerfish has small eyes on the sides of its head and a very large mouth filled with many sharp teeth. One of its most distinctive features is the bioluminescent lure on its head, which it uses to attract prey.
Time needed: 1 hour
How to Draw an Angler Fish
- Prepare the base.
Determine the size and location of your drawing and draw a circle. From the side, draw a small, curved line to indicate the position of the tail.
- Draw the front of the body.
Start detailing the fish and in this step outline the top and bottom contours of the head, draw the wide open mouth and add the round eye.
- Depict the back of the body.
Continue the lines and depict the rest of the body, which tapers towards the tail. On the tail, add longitudinal lines.
- Add the fins and the flashlight rod.
Using jagged lines, draw the upper, lower and lateral fin on the body of the fish. On the head, add the long thin flashlight, the end of which is shaped like the brush.
- Draw the rest of the elements.
Consistently depict the long thin teeth. Draw some spikes on the upper part of the body. At the bottom, draw a curved line to indicate the outline where the color will differ.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Now the main outlines are ready, and you can remove all the guidelines to prepare your drawing for coloring.
- Color the drawing.
For coloring, you will need different shades of brown and blue. On the body of the fish, add dark and light spots.
