How to Draw a Husky
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to draw a husky step by step. The husky is a fast, strong, and hardy dog that is widely used as a sled dog in northern regions.
You’ll create a drawing of a standing husky with its characteristic build, fluffy coat, and characteristic for this dog facial features.

How to Draw a Husky
- Draw the base.
Depict three circles of different sizes to indicate the position of the head and torso. At the beginning of the drawing, use only thin lines that can be easily removed later.
- Depict the outline of the back and limbs.
Draw a smooth connecting line along the top edge. Use thin straight lines to mark the position of the limbs.
- Add the lower outline of the torso and tail.
Draw a smooth line along the bottom edge that connects all the circles. Then add the fluffy tail.
- Sketch out the front of the head.
Now give the head the necessary shape characteristic of this breed. Draw the outline of the nose, lower and upper jaw with smooth lines.
- Add elements of the muzzle.
This will be a very simple step in which you will draw two small elements on the dog’s head—the nose and the eye.
- Sketch out the front paws.
Use the guidelines you drew in step 2 and add thickness to the front paws as shown in our example.
- Draw the lower parts of the front paws.
Continue the lines you drew in the previous step and draw the soles of the paws, then add some toes on each paw.
- Sketch out the hind legs.
With smooth lines, draw the upper parts of the hind legs. Try to correctly depict all physiological curves.
- Add the lower parts of the hind legs.
In this step, we finish drawing the paws, and it remains only to add the soles on the hind legs. Draw the same soles and fingers as you did in step 7.
- Detail the color.
On the head, chest, belly and on the hind leg, mark the outline where the color of the fur will differ. For this purpose, use thin, uneven lines.
- Prepare the drawing for coloring.
Finally, all the main contours are drawn, and now you can delete the auxiliary lines. Do this very carefully so as not to affect important lines.
- Color the Husky.
For coloring fur, use different shades of gray. Add shadows to make the dog look more realistic.
