How to Draw a Handshake
- Prepare baselines.
Outline one arm with a few smooth lines. Draw the wrist as an oval.
- Add the contours of the fingers.
Using thin lines draw four fingers that are bent. Mark the places of the folds in the form of small ovals.
- Depict the baselines.
Draw the outline of the second hand in the same way as you did in the first step. Do not forget that at the initial stage all lines should be thin.
- Sketch out the fingers on the second hand.
Draw a slightly bent thumb and with the help of rounded lines draw the tips of the remaining four fingers.
- Give the second hand the desired shape.
This step is similar to the previous one, and now you should carefully outline the second hand along the contour, focusing on the auxiliary lines. Then add the fingernails.
- Draw the clothes on one arm.
Depict the sleeve of the jacket and the visible part of the cuff on the shirt. Try to correctly depict the shape of these elements of the clothing.
- Add the clothes on the other hand.
This step is similar to the previous one, and now you will draw the sleeve of the jacket and part of the cuff of the shirt on the other hand.
- Sketch out the skin folds.
On the hands, depict the natural folds of the skin at the folds. Also add lines on the palm and on the wrist.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Compare the drawing with our example and if you notice any mistakes, correct them in this step. Remove extra lines.
- Color the drawing.
For coloring the skin, use any natural shades. Light gray color the cuff of the shirt and color the jacket dark gray. Highlight the dark areas.
