How to Draw a Cougar

How to Draw a Cougar
- Outline the basis of the drawing.
Firstly, draw three circles. The head should be smaller, and the other two circles should be larger.
- Draw the limbs and spine.
Secondly, draw one long line starting from the head and going to the tail. Use thin lines to mark the paws.
- Draw the belly and the lower part of the tail.
Then, depict the line that connects the head and the thorax. After that, add the belly and the lower outline of the tail.
- Depict the front of the face.
Add the small bump above the eyebrows. With smooth lines, draw the nose and upper jaw.
- Paint the eye and the nose.
Draw the almond-shaped eye and add the nose in the form of a small triangle.
- Draw the lower jaw.
The cougar’s mouth looks open. Use curved lines in this step.
- Outline the ears.
The cougar has small, rounded ears. One ear is partially hidden, so you only have to draw the top of it as a triangle.
- Draw the front legs of the cougar.
After that, outline the two front paws. Use the lines you drew in the second step as a reference.
- Draw the bottom of the front legs.
Depict wide feet. Using short, rounded lines, draw toes on each paw.
- Outline the hind legs.
The hind legs have a wide base and taper at the bottom. Depict the curvature of the hip joint.
- Draw the bottom of the hind legs.
One foot stands completely on a horizontal surface and the other foot is bent. So, add toes on each foot.
- Remove the auxiliary lines.
Now you need to prepare the drawing for coloring. To do this, remove unnecessary lines with an eraser.
- Color the cougar.
Use light brown as the main color. Add shadows to make the cougar look more realistic. After that, paint the eyes yellow.
