With the help of these simple instructions, we want to show you how to draw a child’s face step by step. As an example, we chose the face of a boy who is smiling and looks very cute.

As usual, you will draw the basic outline first and gradually add details to give the face a realistic appearance.

How to Draw a Child Face

Draw the outline of the head.
Add a figure in the form of an oval, in which the lower part is more pointed. At the initial stage, use only thin lines.
Mark up the face and add the neck.
Using a few horizontal lines, define the position of the main parts of the face. Draw the neck with smooth curved lines.
Depict the eyes.
Focus on the auxiliary line and draw two eyes of the same shape as in our example. Draw the crease on the upper eyelid.
Sketch out the eyebrows.
Just above the eyes draw wide eyebrows with thin short strokes. Try to correctly depict the shape of the eyebrows and observe symmetry.
Draw the nose.
Using short, curved lines, draw the tip of the nose, the outline of the nasal openings, and the outline of the nostrils. Draw the upper part of the nose with two thin lines.
Depict the mouth.
Add the mouth that is wide open. With smooth lines, outline the contour of the upper and lower lips. Draw the teeth and in the corners of the lips add the small folds of the skin.
Add the ears and make the outline of the face clearer.
On the sides of the head, add the ears and immediately depict the inner parts of the ears. Make the contour of the face more clear and expressive.
Sketch out the hair.
Using a free form line, draw the spiky strands at the crown and add the outline of the hair on the sides of the head.
Draw the neck and collar.
Make the outline of the neck clearer and with the help of several curved lines depict the collar.
Correct inaccuracies.
Check if you have completed all the previous drawing steps correctly and correct the mistakes if necessary. Remove extra lines.
Color the drawing.
For coloring the skin and hair, use any natural colors. Color the eyes green. Add the little blush. Color the clothes brown.
