How to Draw a Pug Face

We invite you to follow this tutorial in which we will show you in detail how to draw a pug’s face. We have tried to make this guide as clear and accessible as possible.
A pug has a large, rounded head, a short muzzle with distinctive facial wrinkles, a broad nose with wide nostrils, and small ears that fold forward or hang down.
The lower jaw is slightly wider than the upper. These are the characteristic features of the breed that you should capture in your drawing.

How to Draw a Pug Face
- Prepare the base.
Using thin lines, outline the outer contour of the head and outline the front of the muzzle.
- Detail the top of the head.
Focus on the auxiliary lines and carefully trace the head along the contour, giving it the desired shape. Add some folds on the crown.
- Draw the front of the muzzle.
First you can draw the outer contour, add the folds and curves to the bottom of the muzzle. Then draw the nose.
- Sketch out the eyes.
Draw the round eyes and immediately add pupils. Note that the eyes are almost level with the nose. Add the folds around the eyes.
- Depict the ears.
With smooth curved lines, draw the small ears that hang down freely. At the same time, try to maintain symmetry.
- Add the rest of the body.
From the head, draw down smooth lines to depict the wide neck. Using thin lines, add the mustache along the edges of the cheeks.
- Draw the fur.
Use jagged zigzag lines and sketch out the fur as shown in our example.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Look carefully at your drawing and correct the mistakes if necessary. Remove all unnecessary lines.
- Color the drawing.
For coloring, you will need black and different shades of brown. Select the dark areas to make the pug’s head look more realistic.
