How to Draw Spider-Man’s Head
Follow this guide to learn how to draw Spider-Man’s head and give it the iconic look featured in the style of classic Marvel comics.
Spider-Man is known for his iconic red and blue suit, featuring a web pattern on the red sections. Another distinctive feature of this superhero is his large, angular eyes.

How to Draw Spider-Man’s Head Step-by-Step
Step 1: Draw Spider-Man’s Head Outline
Sketch an oval shape for Spider-Man’s head. Slightly taper the bottom part to form the jawline and chin. At this stage, the shape of Spider-Man’s head should resemble an egg in shape.
Step 2: Add the Neck Lines
Draw two short vertical lines extending downward from the bottom of the head to represent the neck of Spider-Man. The width of the neck should be slightly narrower than the width of the head.
Step 3: Sketch Guidelines for Spider-Man’s Eyes
Draw a vertical line down the center of the head and a horizontal line across the middle. These will help to draw Spider-Man’s eyes and web.
Step 4: Outline Spider-Man’s Eye Shapes
Sketch two large almond-shaped outlines on either side of the vertical guideline. Use the horizontal lines from the previous step to adjust the size of the eyes.
Step 5: Refine the Eye Shapes
Add two more almond-shaped outlines inside each eye shape to create the inner part of the eye design. The central parts of the eyes should be tilted downwards, while the sides should be tilted upwards.
Step 6: Add the Web Lines to the Face
Using the guidelines as reference, draw lines radiating outward from the center of the face. Space them evenly to form the web pattern.
Step 7: Draw the Horizontal Web Lines
Add curved horizontal lines connecting the radiating lines to complete the web pattern. Adjust spacing to give the web of Spider-Man more symmetrical look.
Step 8: Finalize the Linework
Trace over the entire drawing with bold, clean lines. Erase any unnecessary guidelines from the Spider-Man’s head drawing to give it a finished look.
Step 9: Add Color to Spider-Man’s Face
Fill the head with red, leaving the eyes white. Use black for the web lines and the border around the eyes. To give your drawing of Spider-Man’s face more voluminous look, add shadows as in my example.
