How to Draw Snow White
This very simple step-by-step drawing tutorial will show you how to draw Snow White from the legendary Disney cartoon.
Snow White was so good that at the age of seven she overshadowed her beautiful stepmother. You know this story well without us!
In the fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm, the stepmother told her hunter to kill her, but he took pity on the girl and lets her go, leaving her alone in the forest. She found the hut of the seven dwarfs who sheltered her. This story has had many adaptations, and the image of Snow White is almost always unchanged.
In our tutorial on how to draw Snow White, we will draw a dark-haired and young princess from Disney. Let’s see how easy this task will be.
How to Draw Snow White
Step 1 – Sketch the Head, Chest, and Pelvis
Firstly, draw three uniform ovals and place them on an oblique line. The upper one is responsible for the position of the head, the second for the chest, and with the help of the lower one, we will position the pelvis.
Step 2 – Sketch the Limbs
Draw the legs with long lines. Sketch the knees in the middle of the legs. The arms also should be sketched with simple lines. The left arm should be bent slightly towards the top, the other will be bent at the elbow.
Step 3 – Sketch the Facial Guidelines and Torso
Let’s make out the markings of the face: draw two criss-cross lines. Further, draw the neck by connecting the chest and head. Next, we will deal with the corset of the torso and sketch the outlines of the torso. Next, outline the thin waist and depict the rounded shoulders.
Step 4 – Sketch the Arms of Snow White
Divide the hand into four small shapes: round shoulder, cylindrical upper arm, and forearm. Further, sketch out the hand in the shape of a polygon. Place the left hand of Snow White horizontally under the head.
Step 5 – Sketch the Dress of Snow White
Draw the dress: start the dress from the waistline, round out the outlines, expand the hem, and draw the bottom line of the dress along the trajectory of a semicircle. The young princess of the fictional Germanic kingdom deserves a beautiful dress!
Step 6 – Draw the Eyes of Snow White
Draw round eyes, sketch the eyebrows with dense lines. Raise them higher to create naivety in the facial features. Lower the pupils to the very bottom of the eye circles. To create Snow White, a live model was used, and the look of our heroine should be filled with human kindness and tenderness.
Step 7 – Draw the Nose, Lips, and Chin
Finish the beautiful and neat oval of the face of Snow White with a line that will indicate both the cheekbone and chin. Stretch full lips in a barely noticeable kind smile. Place the nose under the eyes.
Step 8 – Draw Hair of Snow White
Snow White’s hairstyle is diligently collected on the head. On the forehead, the bangs are divided into two halves. A bow surrounds the head. Show the splendor of the hairstyle through the volume that surrounds the head. Now our drawing is somewhat similar to Marilyn Monroe!
Step 9 – Draw the Top of the Dress
Let’s create the upper part of the clothing – this will be the corset, encircling the torso. Draw a line down the center, starting from the collar. After that, cover the back of the head with a large collar, and make its shape in a neat semicircle.
Step 10 – Draw the Sleeves of the Dress
Draw the sleeves on the shoulders. These are such beautiful and decorative circles that wrap around the upper arm. Along the middle line cut out the tear-shaped holes, and at the very bottom, draw something like a thin transition to the arm.
Step 11 – Detail the Arms of Snow White
Continue the formation of the young arms of Snow White. Let’s mark the boundaries of the arms. Remember that one is bent at the elbow, and her hand will be almost at the very face. Put the other hand down and slightly raise it in the waist area.
Step 12 – Draw the Hands of Snow White
Our polygonal shape, which served as a schematic representation of the left palm, is gradually turning into a hand. Draw four fingers, bend the little finger, and draw a line from the thumb. The right hand is turned towards us with the outer side, so draw four fingers, because we do not see the thumb on this side.
Step 13 – Draw the Folds on the Dress
Draw long, flowing lines to emphasize the twist of the princess’s body. This will allow us to further create a voluminous dress and give it movement.
Step 14 – Draw the Hem of the Dress
Form the hem of the dress by means of the line, with which we will unite the ends of the vertical lines from the previous paragraph. Try to achieve maximum smoothness and fluidity of the lines.
Step 15 – Draw the Shoes of Snow White
A real princess must have elegant shoes and impeccable style, so draw curving lines under the very hem of the dress, which should look like shoes with a pronounced heel.
Step 16 – Erase the Construction Lines
So, you can already call your drawn lady a real Snow White. Pick up an eraser and remove the guidelines to emphasize the beauty of the silhouette. See how the folds of the dress curl. In addition, you can trace the entire Snow White drawing to make it more cartoonish.
Step 17 – Color the Drawing of Snow White
Fill the dress with a pale yellow color. After that, paint the corset in blue, the shoulders on the sleeves in pale blue, and decorate the droplets in red. Snow White is a brunette, she has a milky complexion, golden shoes, a red bow on her head, and a snow-white collar!
