How to Draw Batman
Today we will tell you about how to draw Batman. In fact, he is one of our favorite comic book characters. Batman is a formidable and gloomy superhero. All the best comics and films about this character are designed in this style. By the way, we are convinced that Zack Snyder is the best of all who has ever worked with the story of The Dark Knight.
Step 1
First, we will depict a stickman. We see the figure of a strong stocky man. The growth of our hero is equal to the sum of the lengths of 6 heads. When we draw the feet, this proportion will change a little. The chest should be significantly wider than the pelvis.
Step 2
Draw a pair of intersecting lines on the face. Using these lines, we will depict eyes and other facial features. Also, in this step we will connect the body parts that we drew in the last step. The head and chest should be connected using a short wide cylinder. This is the neck. Between the chest and the pelvis there should be a waist that gradually tapers down.
Step 3
Now we will draw the contours of the limbs. Batman has large muscular arms and powerful legs. You will be able to depict the volume of arms if you use cylinders and large circles as in our sample. The legs also consist of cylinders and circles. On the legs you can see more noticeable bends.
Step 4
Batman’s mask is one of the main distinguishing features of the appearance of this hero. Batman’s mask is one of the main distinguishing features of the appearance of this hero. In this step we will draw the contours of the mask with short ears. We do not need to draw other facial features except the mouth and slots for the eyes.
Step 5
Let’s work with other distinctive details in Batman’s appearance. In this step we will draw the outline of the Batman sign, the mantle on the shoulders and the belt.
Step 6
So we continue the drawing instruction about how to draw Batman. You could see many different options for the appearance of this superhero. We chose the classic look of Batman. Therefore, at this stage we will depict the contours of armored gloves with spikes as well as high boots.
Step 7
In the fifth step, we drew the contour of the mantle, which is located on the shoulders of Batman. Now we continue to draw the lower part of the mantle, which is located behind the back of our hero. Try to match the upper part of the mantle on the shoulders and the lower part of the mantle from this stage as accurately as possible.
Step 8
So, in this step we will remove all the extra guide lines from Batman’s head. Ideally, you should get a recognizable face contour of a gloomy hero in an eared mask. The final lines should be clear and clearly visible.
Step 9
We draw a logo in the form of a bat which should be located inside the oval figure from the fifth stage. Also, in this step we draw the final contours of the mantle fabric that is located on the shoulders. Pay particular attention to fabric folds because this is a pretty important detail.
Step 10
Well, we are almost getting close to completing this drawing guide. Here we will draw the final clear lines of the arms and torso of our character.
Step 11
Let’s do the same with Batman’s legs. Now that we have completed this sketch, we can check the basic proportions, posture and details of the armor. If you haven’t identified any errors, you can start painting our sketch.
Step 12
We use gray and blue colors. You may recall that the traditional color of Batman is black. And this, in fact, is true. But only if we are talking about modern Batman. If you like Batman comics, you probably know that Batman’s initial appearance consisted of a suit and armor in blue, gray, and yellow. Let’s colorize our Batman using these colors.
