How to Draw a Gorilla
In this tutorial, we are going to tell you how to draw a gorilla. This monkey has an aggressive disposition and impressive dimensions, and the famous King Kong is also associated with this animal.

How to Draw a Gorilla
Step 1 – Sketch the Head and Torso
Place the three large and uneven circles so that they are next to each other. In the center is the largest stone-like circle. This is the torso and at the same time the powerful chest of our Kong. The headline extends slightly beyond the body.
Step 2 – Draw the Limbs of the Gorilla
Combine the pelvis, chest, and head with two short lines. From the chest, draw two lines pointing down. Depict two more lines out of the pelvis – these are the paws of the monkey.
Step 3 – Draw the Neck and Abdomen of the Gorilla
Gorillas have a small growth over their heads. Draw this detail as a small pyramid and place it directly over your head. Start a line from the pelvis and draw it in a semicircle, connecting to the chest.
Step 4 – Draw Gorilla Eyes
Mark two eyes on the head, which look like two small dots. Complete the shape of the head with a small protrusion in the form of a half-circle. Place it directly on the gorilla’s chin.
Step 5 – Draw the Nose and Mouth of the Gorilla
At the very bottom of the head circle, draw a line to show where your gorilla’s mouth is. Draw large nostrils a little higher. Make them with sharp corners and a rosette-like shape.
Step 6 – Draw the Ears of the Gorilla
Draw large and fluffy eyebrows above the eyes. Connect them at the bridge of the nose. Sketch the ear on the left side of the head.
Step 7 – Draw the Details of the Face
Finish the ear in more detail: make a semblance of a shell inside the outer contours. Detail the face shape of our jungle dweller. With a line coming from the eye, show the border of the muzzle, select the convex mouth in a semicircle. Sketch the folds under the eyes with short lines.
Step 8 – Sketch the Gorilla’s Arms
Draw long lines almost from the ear to the very bottom so that it is parallel to the other line. Start another one from the right cheek and go down.
Step 9 – Sketch the Gorilla’s Fingers
Draw the gorilla’s large, powerful fingers. The animal rests on the front limbs and bends all the fingers. This certainly makes drawing very easy.
Step 10 – Sketch the Gorilla’s Legs
So, draw the hind legs as strong and thick as the front ones. Place the other paw slightly forward. Try to create wide, powerful limbs with as few curves as possible.
Step 11 – Sketch the Gorilla’s Feet

Step 12 – Draw the Gorilla’s Wool
Drawing the wool in detail is difficult. Avoid this kind of detail if you have a cartoonish style. Draw some sketchy lines on the arms, legs, and back of our gorilla.
Step 13 – Erase the Guidelines
Delete the original limb lines and the borders of the ovals that you drew at the very beginning. The borders of your drawing should be on the outside, not on the inside.
Step 14 – Color the Gorilla
It remains only to set the color for the picture. To do this, take gray and add it to the main color picker. Give the gorilla a two-tone color by adding some light to the torso and muzzle.
