How to Draw a Chick

We love to draw all sorts of cute and attractive things. That is why we created this guide on how to draw a chick.

 

Step 1

The chicken is a pretty funny creature. It is very soft and round. Therefore, we will present his figure in the form of two ovals of different sizes. We will arrange these ovals according to the principle of a snowman, that is, the upper shape should be small, and the lower one should be large.

Step 2

Let’s make this sketch more cute and lively. To do this, we will draw a beak that looks like two triangles of different sizes that have one adjacent side.

Step 3

We connect the body and head with two short smooth lines. Add a small oval near the key. This is the outline of the eye.

Step 4

In this step, we will draw the proximal parts of the legs of our bird. These are small and very thin legs that are formed by four vertical lines.

Step 5

Now let’s draw the distal parts of the legs. Here we see three toes in the front and one in the back on each foot. All fingers are flat but almost identical in shape. Let’s draw this.

Step 6

As you know, we like to highlight a special step so that you can evaluate your sketch. If you see any errors or inaccuracies, you can correct them now. This is much easier than correcting mistakes after painting.

Step 7

Choose any color for your chicken. We decided to go with the traditional yellow color for the feathers and a bright orange color for the feet and beak. Do not forget to prepare darker shades of base colors in advance in order to apply shadows.
