How to Draw a Basketball

This is the game that conquered the world. You can see basketball courts in any city. Even presidents and prime ministers play this game. Basketball is really great. However, no match can be played without the ball, right? That is why we have created a guide on how to draw a basketball.

 

Step 1

Firstly, let’s draw a regular circle. You can use the drawing auxiliary tools, however, it would be ideal if you can draw it without any devices. Place this circle in the center of your piece of paper.

Step 2

Many aspiring artists get confused about these stripes. This is a little more complicated than it sounds because the shape and position of these stripes are distorted depending on the angle. We will try to solve this problem step by step.

To begin with, we sketch out across that is formed by two curved lines. The intersection of these lines is located much lower than the approximate center of the ball and much to the right of the same point relative to us.

Step 3

Another simple step at first glance. We will now draw a pair of curved stripes that intersect one of the lines from the previous step at right angles. Note that the two new lines are not parallel or symmetrical. Try to copy them as accurately as possible from our sample, paying attention to the distance between the lines and the edges of the ball.

Step 4

Check all the lines in your drawing. Pay special attention to the lines from the previous step. If you don’t see any distortion and your sketch is excellent, you can remove the extra lines and move on to working with colors.

Step 5

In this step, we will add colors. If you choose one color, be sure to prepare a darker shade of the same color in order to add some shadows. You can also add various patterns or logos of sports companies.
