How to Draw Nightwing

This lesson is dedicated to drawing one of the DC Comics characters, and now you will learn how to draw Nightwing. This man is Batman‘s friend and assistant and stands on the side of good.
In the drawing, Nightwing is wearing a comfortable, tight-fitting suit and has a mask on his face. As you work, try to maintain all proportions and carefully draw lines so that in the end the character is easily recognizable. How to Draw Nightwing Step-by-Step
Step 1: Sketch the Basic Head and Torso Shapes
Draw an oval for the head and a rounded rectangular shape for the torso. Using these simple geometric shapes, give basic volume to head and torso and position the character on the paper.
Step 2: Sketch the Guidelines for the Limbs
Use simple lines to outline the arms and legs. Use small circles to indicate the joints. Try to give the character the necessary pose while maintaining proportions.
Step 3: Draw Nightwing‘s Facial Guidelines
Draw guidelines for the face, including horizontal and vertical lines, to detail the face in later steps. Add curved lines to give the torso more volume and define its shape.
Step 4: Add Volume to the Arms of Nightwing
Sketch cylindrical shapes around the arm lines to add volume. Refine the shoulders and elbows using circles. Outline the general shape of the arm muscles.
Step 5: Add Volume to Nightwing‘s Legs
Refine the legs by drawing cylindrical shapes around the guidelines. Add simple shapes for the feet to sketch their size and position. Sketch the knees as simple circles.

Add facial features such as the eyes, nose, and mouth, using the guidelines from the previous steps. Draw the iconic Nightwing mask around the eyes of the character.
Step 8: Draw Nightwing‘s Torso in Detail
Add details to the torso by sketching muscles, including the chest, trapezoids and abdomen. Refine the outline to of the torso, giving it more natural, realistic look.
Step 9: Detail the Arms of Nightwing
Draw curved lines along the upper arms to indicate the biceps and triceps. Add similar lines along the forearms to depict the forearm muscles.
Step 10: Detail the Legs and Feet
Add curved lines along the thighs and calves to draw Nightwing’s legs muscles. Detail the feet by adding more angular lines for the toes and heels.
Step 11: Add Details to the Costume
Draw the Nightwing symbol on the chest with sharp, angular lines. Add horizontal lines for the gloves and boots. Next, draw jagged blades on the wrists, similar to those on Batman’s.
Step 12: Finalize the Linework
Trace over the Nightwing drawing with smooth, bold lines to finalize the artwork. Erase any extra guidelines to give your drawing a clean look.
Step 13: Add Colors to Nightwing
Fill the costume with black, leaving the Nightwing symbol in blue. Use darker tones to add shading. Paint the skin in natural skin tones. Color the hair black and leave eyes white.
