How to Draw an Elf

1. Prepare the base.

   Draw the head, chest, and pelvis in the form of several ovals of different sizes. In this step, you can use thin lines that can be easily removed if necessary.

2. Depict the spine and limbs.

   Add one line down the center of the torso and use thin, straight lines to mark the location of the limbs. Draw the joints as small circles.

3. Make markings on the head and draw the outline of the torso.

   On the head, draw transverse lines that will help you correctly position the elements of the face. Draw the neck, shoulders, and side contours of the torso.

4. Sketch out the arms.

   Give volume to the arms, to do this, draw the joints in the form of circles, and the rest of the arms in the form of cylinders and cones, then add the outlines of the hands.

5. Draw the legs.

   Now you need to give volume to the legs. Follow the same principles as in the previous step. Try to correctly portray the natural curves of the body.

6. Add facial features.

   It’s time to detail the elf’s face. Use guidelines and draw two large eyes, eyebrows, nose, and mouth.

7. Depict the outline of the hair and ears.

   With smooth lines, draw the outline of the hair and add pointed ears. At the same time, make sure that both sides of the head are symmetrical.

8. Draw the upper torso.

   Depict the cape that covers the shoulders of the elf. To do this, draw the outer contours of the shoulders, forearms and depict the edge of the cape using lines that are located diagonally.

9. Add the middle part of the torso.

   Draw smooth clear lines on the sides of the body, add small folds on the chest. At the bottom, draw the belt with a buckle in the middle.

10. Detail the arms.

    In order to draw the sleeves, use the same lines that you drew when you drew the outline of the arms. Add transverse lines above the wrist and draw the hands, in which the fingers are clenched into fists.

11. Detail the legs.

    The elf woman is dressed in tight-fitting trousers, so the contour of the clothes matches the contour of the body. Below the knees, draw transverse lines to depict the upper outline of the boots.

12. Sketch out the rest of the elements.

    The image of the elf is almost ready, and it remains to draw small elements. Add the bottom of the cape and the bottom outline of the boots.

13. Correct inaccuracies.

    Now compare your drawing with the example and correct inaccuracies if necessary. With the eraser, carefully remove all unnecessary lines and make the outline clearer.

14. Color the Elf.

    Light gray color the skin of the elf, color the hair dark gray. For coloring clothes, use any dark colors.
