How to Draw a Raptor

- Prepare baselines.
Draw the main parts of the dinosaur’s body in the form of rounded shapes. From the head, draw down the connecting line, which smoothly passes into the tail.
- Add the limbs.
Now, with the help of a few thin lines, depict the position of the front and hind limbs of the dinosaur.
- Detail the head.
Begin to give the body the desired shape and in this step draw the head, which is slightly raised up. Draw the wide mouth, eyes, and teeth.
- Add the contours of the body.
Depict connecting lines between the head and chest to represent the neck. Add the contour of the back and abdomen. Draw the thickness of the tail.
- Sketch out the front paws.
Focus on the auxiliary lines and give the front paws the desired shape and thickness. Draw long fingers and add claws at the bottom.
- Draw the hind legs.
Give the hind legs the desired thickness. At the bottom draw the fingers and add the claws. On each paw, draw a large claw that is raised up.
- Detail the color.
Use a thin jagged line and draw the outline on the body of the raptor where the color will differ.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Check if you have correctly depicted all parts of the body of the raptor. Correct the mistakes if necessary and carefully remove any extra lines.
- Color the drawing.
You will need different shades of gray and brown, as well as green and pink. Highlight the dark areas to give the drawing a more realistic look.
