How to Draw a Koala
In today’s guide, we will tell you how to draw a koala. We tried to create a fairly simple tutorial, but if you follow the sequence of steps, you will get a pretty cool result.
Step 1
Firstly, we sketch out the outlines of the body of our koala. It looks like three rounded shapes arranged vertically. The first steps of the snowman guide were very similar to this first step. Don’t draw perfectly straight shapes. Note the differences between the bottom shape and the top and middle shapes.
Step 2
Let’s draw the outlines of the ears. If you find it difficult to immediately draw a contour consisting of oblique lines, you can first draw a contour using normal lines and then erase it and draw the final version.
Step 3
Koala is one of the cutest animals ever, right? This is indeed the case, and now we will start drawing the face of the koala. First, we outline the contours of a large, funny nose in the form of an oval.
Step 4
In this step, we will add a pair of eyes in the form of small ovals and a mouth that looks like a small arc under the nose. We will also draw a pair of small symmetrical nostrils.
Step 5
Add edging to the medial edges of the ears of our cute animal. After that, we connect the two rounded shapes from the first step to get smooth contours of the body.
Step 6
It’s time to work with the front legs of the koala. Our bear rests on its front paws, creating the illusion of hands. It really does look like large human hands. Let’s draw it with light lines.
Step 7
Step 8
So we continue the guide on how to draw a koala. In this step, we sketch out the outlines of the hind leg, which has a bend in the form of an obtuse angle. Second. we cannot see the hind paw due to the peculiarities of the angle.
Step 9
This will be the shortest step for the entire lesson. We will now draw four short, rounded toes on the paw from the previous step.
Step 10
A small detail that we clearly lack is the claws on the paws. These are small, pointed lines that are located on the distal parts of the fingers. The direction of the nails should match the direction of the fingers.
Step 11
Let’s use colors to make our drawing more vivid. The traditional colors of koalas are dark gray, light gray, and black. Use darker shades of base colors to paint small shadows. Don’t forget important details such as glare in the eyes and small dark lines inside the ears.
