How to Draw a Cow
- Draw the main outlines.
Depict three round shapes to indicate the relative position of the head and torso. Try to correctly position these circles on paper or tablet.
- Add the upper outline of the body and limbs.
Draw a smooth connecting line along the top edge that touches all circles. Use thin lines to mark the position of the front and hind limbs.
- Sketch out the front of the head.
From the top of the head, draw a smooth line, make a slight bulge where the nose and lips are located, and carefully draw the bottom of the head.
- Depict the ear and muzzle elements.
Let’s add a little s on the face of the cow. Depict the small pointed ear, add the nostril and the mouth.
- Draw the neck and eye.
From the head, draw a smooth line down to depict the neck and chest. Add the small eye on the muzzle.
- Add the front legs.
Depict the front legs of the same shape as in our example. Consider all the physiological features of the structure of the cow’s legs.
- Depict the hooves on the front legs.
Continue the lines of the legs, depict the slight bend, and at the very bottom add the pointed hooves on each leg.
- Sketch out the lower part of the torso.
Give the desired shape to the lower body. Draw a smooth, curved line to represent the belly and depict the udder, which has a semicircular shape.
- Draw the back legs.
The hind legs have a broad base and a relatively narrow underside. Take your time during this step and try to correctly depict the shape of the legs.
- Depict the hooves on the hind legs.
You already know how to draw a cow’s hooves and draw them easily in this step. This completes the drawing of the cow’s legs.
- Sketch out the tail.
You can see that the back of the body forms a right angle, the tail hangs down freely and has the tassel at the end. Try to repeat this in your drawing.
- Correct the inaccuracies.
Now you can delete all unnecessary lines in your drawing. Make the outline clearer and thus prepare the drawing for coloring.
- Color the drawing.
For coloring the cow, choose beige, you will also need pink and brown. Finally, you can add shadows to make the drawing more voluminous and realistic.
