How to Draw a Blazer

We decided to dedicate this step-by-step tutorial to sketching clothes, and now you will learn how to draw a blazer. In the picture you see a fitted sports jacket.
Usually a blazer is sewn from a plain woolen fabric. The blazer can be single-breasted or double-breasted.
If you master this tutorial, then in the future you can easily portray a person in such clothes. Remember all the drawing steps, be careful and patient.
Step 1: Draw the basic blazer outline
Determine the size and placement of the blazer, then use smooth lines to outline the main body. Add the long sleeves on both sides and keep the overall shape symmetrical.

Step 2: Draw the blazer collar and lapels
Begin detailing the garment by drawing the collar around the neckline. Extend the lines downward to form the wide pointed lapels on the front of the blazer.

Step 3: Refine the shoulders and sides
Use the construction lines to refine the shoulder seams and upper side contours. Give the blazer a fitted shape by gently narrowing the sides toward the waist.

Step 4: Add the lower blazer and pockets
Continue the side lines downward and draw the slightly curved lower hem. Add the two front pockets near the bottom, keeping their size and placement symmetrical.

Step 5: Draw the blazer sleeves
Use the guidelines to refine both sleeves with smooth, clear lines. Taper each sleeve slightly toward the cuff and preserve the natural curve from the shoulder downward.

Step 6: Sketch the front opening and buttons
Draw a smooth line from the lapel to the lower edge of the blazer to define the front opening. Add two round buttons along the center of the blazer, one above the other.

Step 7: Add the remaining blazer details
Draw the small chest pocket of the blazer on one side, then add a short seam line to the collar. Refine the lower hem and any remaining edges of the jacket.

Step 8: Clean up the blazer drawing
Erase the remaining construction lines and refine the collar, lapels, sleeves, pockets, buttons, and hem. Darken the visible contours to create a clean blazer line drawing.

Step 9: Color the blazer drawing
Color the outer fabric with a light gray shade and fill the inside of the blazer with a darker gray. Use dark tones for the buttons and small shaded areas.

Now you have completed all the steps in this tutorial, and you know how to draw a blazer. Continue drawing clothing by drawing a jacket, sketching a shirt, or outlining a trench coat.
