How to Draw Closed Eyes
- Prepare the base.
Start drawing by preparing auxiliary lines. Draw two horizontal lines to indicate the relative position of the eyebrows and eyes.
- Determine the size and location of the eyes.
Using thin lines, draw two circles at some distance from each other. Draw a smooth, curved line down the middle of each circle.
- Add the outline of the eyebrows.
On the upper auxiliary line, draw the eyebrows of the same shape as in our example. At the same time, observe symmetry.
- Determine the position of the nose.
In the center of your drawing, draw two small lines, which should be at the same distance from each eye.
- Draw the upper eyelids.
With the help of smooth lines depict the upper eyelids that cover the eyes. In this case, use the lines that you drew earlier.
- Add the creases to the eyelids.
Depict the skin folds on the eyelids, to do this, draw semicircular lines above each eye and below also add short thin lines.
- Sketch out the eyelashes.
Draw the eyelashes on each eyelid using short lines. At the same time, try to correctly depict the direction of eyelash growth.
- Detail the eyelashes.
Make the lashes fuller. To do this, add the short thin strokes and use the lines that you drew in the previous step as a guide.
- Define the contour of the eyebrows and nose.
Outline the eyebrows and add the small hairs in front of the eyebrows. Refine the outline of the nose.
- Detail the brows.
Depict the small hairs on the eyebrows with short, thin strokes, while being careful and consider the direction of the hair growth on the eyebrows.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Check if you have completed all the drawing steps correctly. Carefully remove all extra lines in your drawing and correct inaccuracies if necessary.
- Color the drawing.
Use any natural shades for coloring skin and hair. Highlight the dark areas to make your drawing look more realistic.
