How to Draw a Whale
Whales are the largest animals in the world and our team loves them very much. And as you can see, in this instruction we will just show you how to draw a whale.
There are many types of whales in the world. You might have seen them in movies or cartoons. In this instruction, we want to show you how to draw a humpback whale as a classic cetacean.
Step 1
Firstly, draw the central part of the whale as a large oval. Create lines without pressing hard on the pencil to make it easier to erase them later.
Step 2
Further, draw the front of the whale using an elongated U-shaped line. The eyes and the huge mouth of the whale will be located here.
Step 3
Now draw the mouth with a long and slightly curving line. Just above the end of the mouth, depict the eye and the wrinkles around it.
Step 4
Now draw long front fins. Note that according to linear perspective, the fin that is closer to us should be slightly larger than the second.
Step 5
Now draw the whale’s tail with smooth lines, which should taper towards the end. To give liveliness to the whale drawing, make the tail slightly curved.
Step 6
Draw a small fin on the back that looks like a shark’s fin. Depict the tail fins at the very end of the tail. The fins should be drawn with very smooth lines.
Step 7
Now, carefully get rid of all the construction lines that helped us draw the whale. Make the necessary lines more distinct and cleaner.
Step 8
Draw long, longitudinal lines on the front of the whale’s lower body (where the chin and upper chest are). These lines should be drawn taking into account the curves of the whale’s body.
Step 9
If you did everything correctly, then your whale drawing will be similar to the one depicted by our artists. If there are any inaccuracies, then it’s time to fix them by returning to the desired stage.
Step 10
So, now is the time to color the whale drawing. You can use gray-blue colors as in our example. But you can also paint your whale in any other color.
As you can see, everything is very simple. Anyone can draw a whale. But if you want to further pump your skill in drawing these beautiful marine mammals, then try drawing a whale in a different position or from a different angle. Using the knowledge gained in this instruction and references from the Internet, you can raise your skill to incredible heights.
I love it, this was very easy and it turned out very similar to yours. Thank you!
