How to Draw a Shark
In this drawing guide, we will tell you how to draw a shark. This is a very formidable sea predator, we will try to draw it just like that.
Step 1
First, we sketch out the outlines of the shark’s body. The shark is a very swift and fast predator, so the body of the shark must have a streamlined shape for ideally fast movement. It looks a bit like the outline of a bullet.
Step 2
Let’s add the outlines of the nose and mouth of our predatory fish. As you can see, the nose should protrude slightly forward. The mouth appears as a short, curved line.
Step 3
Draw a small figure at the back of the shark’s body. In the next step we will draw a tail in this area. The tail should continue a smooth, but clearly visible tapering of the trunk.
Step 4
Great, we’ve created a shark body. It should be centered on your sheet of paper. The taper towards the tail should be more noticeable than the taper towards the head. Let’s outline the contours of the tail now. It looks like a pair of different triangles that are connected by one corner.
Step 5
Let’s draw another triangle, which is located laterally. This area is slightly closer to the head than to the tail. Use smooth lines with a slight curve, avoid perfectly straight lines in this step.
Step 6
If you’ve seen pictures of sharks, you’ve probably noticed the large fins on the back. Let’s draw such a fin now. Try to depict smooth lines and a slight bend towards the tail.
Step 7
So we continue the guide about how to draw a shark. Several more small fins are located in the tail region. Let’s draw this. All triangles in this step have a slight backward bend.
Step 8
It will be a very small step. Here we will draw an eye that looks like a dot and gills. Pay attention to the location of these organs in relation to the parts already drawn. By the way, we have a whole category of animal drawing lessons. Don’t forget to check it out if you love this theme.
Step 9
This step is necessary so that you can check the actions from the previous steps. If you notice any mistakes, fix them now. After that, you can remove the extra guide lines and move on to working with colors.
Step 10
You can choose any colors for this beautiful shark. We preferred the traditional colors for sharks, i.e. dark gray and light gray. The border separating the colors does not have to be perfectly flat.
We tried to portray this shark as formidable and at the same time not particularly difficult to draw. Write us if you have any difficulty in drawing this animal. We will take into account your requests and wishes in the work with the following lessons.
