How to Draw a Lion Face

How to Draw a Lion Face
- Prepare the base.
With thin lines draw the outline of the head, the upper and lower outline of the muzzle and the outline of the upper body.
- Draw the fur.
Depict the spiky strands of the fur around the outline of the head using short strokes. Pay attention to the size of the strands and the direction of the hair growth.
- Add the bottom of the muzzle.
Focus on the guidelines and depict the lower part of the muzzle using smooth curved lines. Draw connecting lines on the sides.
- Depict the chin.
This will be a very simple step that you can easily follow. With the help of short strokes, depict the fluffy chin in a semicircular shape.
- Sketch out the eyes.
Continue adding elements of the muzzle and in this step draw two eyes. Be careful at this step and observe symmetry.
- Draw the space around the eyes.
With the help of short smooth lines, add the folds on the upper and lower eyelids. Above the eyes, draw the outline of the spots.
- Add the nose and mouth.
Draw the nose of the same shape as in our example. Depict the mouth below the nose using small strokes.
- Depict the outline of the mane.
Focus on the auxiliary line and with the help of smooth curved lines draw the spiky strands of the fur on the mane.
- Sketch out the rest of the fur.
With the help of smooth lines, add another outline of the fur around the head, while focusing on the lines that you drew earlier.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Check if you have followed all the steps correctly and notice inaccuracies, then correct them immediately. Carefully remove extra lines.
- Color the drawing.
For coloring, you will need different shades of brown and a light gray color for the front of the muzzle and around the eyes.
