How to Draw a Family

How to Draw a Family
- Draw the main outlines.
Depict the different parts of the body of the parents and children. To do this, use round shapes. Do not forget that at the initial stage of drawing you need to use only thin lines.
- Determine the position of the limbs.
Define the position of the arms and legs using thin, straight lines. Draw the folds as large dots.
- Make markings on the face and outline the upper body contour.
On the head of each family member, draw a thin line to indicate the central part of the face. With smooth lines draw the neck and upper parts of the shoulders.
- Continue drawing the arms.
Draw the individual parts of the arms as elongated cylinders. Designate the places of the folds in the form of circles and draw the contours of the hands.
- Depict the bottom of the drawing.
At the bottom, add some smooth, curved lines to indicate the lower visible parts of the people’s figures.
- Add the outlines of the face and hair.
With the help of smooth lines depict the outline of the face of each family member, draw the ears and add the outline of the hair.
- Sketch out the facial features.
For each family member draw eyes, eyebrows, nose, and mouth. Observe proportions and take into account all age-related features of the structure of the face.
- Draw the elements of the clothing.
Sketch out the collar for the girl, the man, and the boy. Also add the outlines of the lower parts of the clothes, as shown in the example.
- Depict the rest of the clothes and hands.
With the help of a few smooth lines sketch out the upper parts of the clothes and draw the hands, using the lines you drew earlier as a guide.
- Sketch out the hands.
Draw the hands of the girl and the mother. Be careful at this step and try to depict the position of the fingers correctly.
- Add the boy’s hands.
Continue adding the body parts and in this step you will draw the boy’s hands. Try to do this carefully so that the position of the brushes is as similar as possible to the example.
- Detail the clothes and hair.
With smooth lines, draw the folds on the clothes of all family members and draw individual strands of hair. This way you will make your drawing more realistic.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Compare your drawing with our example and if you notice any mistakes, correct them at this stage. Remove all extra lines in the drawing.
- Color the drawing.
For coloring hair, eyes and skin, choose any natural shades. For coloring clothes, use bright colors.
